| The bike light
has made huge strides in the last few years, better batteries, longer burn
times, better charging systems, and brighter candle power. With the Sun
setting earlier over the winter months lights have become a necessity for
anyone interested in riding. As many soon learn (myself included) the cheaper
"Duracel" operated lights don't have much candle power, and with
colder climates the batteries don't last long. With the bike light systems you have several options, single or dual beam light, and helmet or handlebar mounted, and a wide range of burn times and brightness. The HID systems will cost the most but also offer double the burn time, and about 4 times brighter than halogen. The newest stuff on the market is the high powered LED light systems that are more duarble and nearly as bright as the HID's. Our suggestion is that if you are going to get only one light, best option is always a helmet mounted version first. This will allow you to look ahead around turns, or down hills better than handlebar mounted lights. Also when making repairs or searching for lost items a helmet light is more versatile. |

2008 NiteRider MinewtX.2
and MinewtX.2 Dual LED light system
Minewt X.2 Single: By incorporating a new high powered LED, the MiNewt.X2’s output more than doubles for 2008 to 150 lumens on high and 92 lumens on low! Regulated run times also increase for 2008 to 3:30 on high and 7:00 on low. Put in perspective, the new MiNewt.X2’s lumen output on low is greater than the first generation MiNewt on high! Optics are very important to the performance of any lighting system, that’s why a Borofloat lens and custom reflector are used in the MiNewt.X2 and other NiteRider LED lighting systems. This combination delivers superior performance levels when compared to traditional glass lens or T.I.R.’s. A new titanium finish with an additional clear coat for added protection, faster charge time and tabbed mounting rings for easier handlebar mounting, round out the MiNewt.X2’s 2008 features. Minewt X.2 Dual: The MiNewt.X2 Dual headlamps combine for a blinding 300 lumens of light output. The dual headlamps with independent mounting permit “stacking” light beams for flexibility, better night riding performance and adds a layer of safety and redundancy. The Dual X2 benefits from all the performance enhancements made to the single X2. Lumen output doubles when compared to the 1st generation MiNewt Dual and regulated run times increase to 1:45 on high and 3:30 on low. |

NiteRider
Sol LED Light System
(handlebar
mount only) The Sol uses the same great looking headlamp found on the MiNewt.X2. Make no mistake, the Sol not only looks good, but also delivers excellent performance. Housed inside the headlamp is the same high-powered LED found in the MiNewt.X2 and when powered by the NiMH battery pack, the Sol pumps out an amazing 115 lumens. When it came to optics, NiteRider did not cut corners by using a total internal reflector or standard glass lens; instead the same custom made reflector and Borofloat lens used in the MiNewt.X2 was incorporated. This reflector and lens combination minimizes light transmission loss while maximizing light output. Charging and maintaining batteries has never been easier, just plug it in and walk away. The Sol charger does the rest, making certain your battery never overcharges. When left connected for longer periods of time, the charger monitors battery levels and periodically charges the battery to keep it at optimum levels. Never before have so many features been offered at an affordable price. |

NiteRider Sol Mate
Light
System
(handlebar
and helmet mounts included) The SolMate offers all the same great features and performance levels found on the Sol, and includes both helmet and handlebar mounts. The SolMate uses the same great looking headlamp found on the MiNewt.X2. Make no mistake, the SolMate not only looks good, but also delivers excellent performance. Housed inside the headlamp is the same high-powered LED found in the MiNewt.X2 and when powered by the NiMH battery pack, the SolMate pumps out an amazing 115 lumens. 2008 NiteRider Trinewt
(as bright as the HID systems) Think of the TriNewt as the MiNewt’s big brother, with a look and design every bit as unique and striking as the MiNewt. The TriNewt incorporates a cluster of 3 high-powered LED’s to achieve a retina searing output of 500 lumens! No ‘off the shelf’ optics are used in the TriNewt. Instead, the 3 high-powered LED’s are housed in a custom made reflector designed specifically with cycling in mind. The result is a beam pattern ideal for night riding. Like all NiteRider LED lighting systems, the TriNewt uses a Borofloat lens to greatly minimize light loss and maximize light output, when compared to a traditional glass lens or total internal reflector. A wireless remote version of the TriNewt is available, allowing light control without your hands ever having to leave the handlebars, regardless of where you are mounting your light. This safety feature is not found anywhere else. All of these features, combined with regulated run times ranging from 3:30 – 7:00 and a lightweight Li-Ion battery, make the TriNewt the light by which all others are judged. |
